Police Chief John R. Daily

Chief John Daily has been the Chief of Police for the Bel Aire Police Department since 2006.  He became the Interim Chief in May 2006 and was appointed to the full time position in September of 2006. John's law enforcement career started in 1973 as a Deputy Sheriff with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office. Over the next 30 years John held a variety of positions on the Sheriff's Office.  He worked in Patrol, Detectives, Training, the Exploited and Missing Child Unit, the Narcotics Section, and the Professional Standards Unit.  He was the co-author of the Field Training Officer program and was directly involved in the first joint Training Academy between the Sheriff's Office and the Wichita Police Department.  John was promoted through the ranks to Lieutenant and retired in December 2003 after a very distinguished career.  John has an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Barton County Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Friends University, is a graduate of the D. E. A. Command School, W. S. U. Mini MPA program, and the F. B. I. Central States Law Enforcement Executive Development program.
